Ive replaced my stock cooler on my 939 skt AMD 3500 with a Freezer 64 Pro.
I replaced the heast sink pad on the cooler with Arctic Silver 5. After running for about 20 mins Core Temp shows the temp is exactly the same as before.

Is it possible to put too much paste on stopping the heat reduction ? (I only used a blob much smaller than a pea)

I also noticed that as I pulled down the restraining bar the cooler was pulled to one side which has left a small part of the CPU uncovered down one edge. Is this part of the problem ?

Also, Core Temp records 27C while another prog Sytem Tool reports 44C. Is there a more accurate util that reports temp?

MAny Thnx

SpeenFan reports 27C

20 mins ! you lucky sod it, it took me forever to fit it, I found it a really tight squeeze. When I first put it on the fan was about 1/4" away from the graphics card. I thought the airflow wouldnt be very good so I turned it round so it faces the memory. Is there there a right and wrong way for it to face ?

I havent tried running it under load yet just desktop stuff, but I'll try and reseat it first.
