Hi all i've found a cheep one of the above and i was wondering if it would be any good for my system, the sunbeam CCF i currently have is just not enough to get any higher overclock and even @ 3.5GHz it's touched 54'c on more than 1 occasion so i'm looking to upgrade to something better, i was thinking first at a custom loop or a kit but there is a lack of CPU blocks on OCUK for AMD chips and don't really fancy spending over £50 on just a block of copper :) when i can get the above for £52 delivered and then when i have some more cash move this to my server and replace it with a custom loop

Go custom loop. You won't get the same performance from a budget pre-built cooling setup that you can with custom chosen components as each manufacturer specialises in different parts.

In an ideal world I would go for a custom loop but money is very tight right now so I'm looking for a stop gap and something I could move over to my server when I have the cash for a proper loop it's why I bought the case I have so I would have plenty of options when I have the funds for water-cooling

what would you recommend? my current cooler (sunbeam CCF) was the one everyone recommended at the time but i'm idling @ 44'c with loaded temps of 54'c, it's rock solid stable but the temps are way too close to the 55'c max for this chip, temps are recorded via coretemp and i have upgraded the fan from the stock (made a little difference but not a lot) what ever cooler i get would need to be quite as my pc is in my bedroom and quite often i leave it on over night

Hi Razer,

This is Barry w/ CoolIT. I would reccomend our ECO A.L.C for you. Nice and quiet and will support the OC you want. You can add another fan to it down the road or switch them to intake fans to boost the performance even more if you like.

Regards,

Barry
