Sorry for being a newbie

but after the black widow case but if i remember right, i think it was out of productions??? if so, what is its replacement?
 
The prae is not a blackwidow.

The blackwidow is a 201b ATCs case.

It has been discontinued a age ago, and no direct replacement is around unfortunately. The second hand market for these cases however is very strong.

I should know ;)
 
The 201-BTX aka black widow has been discontinued along time now, it's replacement was the praetorian, looks wise exactly the same, build wise a lesser quality. However that too has now been discontinued.

Your best bet is to keep a look out for a second hand one
 
i now like the CoolerMaster Praetorian 732 in black.. but that seems to be hard to get hold off :(


its been ages since i've been on here... and i could remember something like the blackwidow was near to being discontinued

Really? Still in stock in Newegg and such. Its also still on the CM website still?

No competitor talk please, even if trying to be clever about it :p!

As far as i'm aware yes, but i may be wrong. The 201 style praetorian may just be unavailable due to the poor distribution in the UK.

Having said that there are still some american sites (as newegg) that have the older cm 110/111/201/200 etc...
 
Is it a black widow, or a praetorian, or a 201b SXT or what specifically?

There is a price check forum which would be much more suited to this question.
 
It's a Coolermaster Blackwidow. The 201 I think, it's quite rare you cant buy them anymore.

Need a few more posts to view that forum. How much did you let yours go for?
 
Mine went for £80inc, but was mint bar one manufactured paint defect.

Make sure its actually a black widow though, the right 201 version. The widow does not have a top blowhole.

=sorry didnt notice you did not have MM access, 90 days + 250 posts. You will have to wait on price checks until then though, but they usually shift for £20 - £140 depending on condition and box etc.

I bought it brand new as a blackwidow, off this very shop (or the now bankrupt Overclocking Store). On the box says ATCs, has a black front. I'm pretty sure it's a blackwidow ;)
 
Hmm it seems you're right, the standard blackwidow has no fan hole on top.
I must have a blackwidow variant. The front is black (not silver like some i've seen) and it's a glossy finish. Would the top blowhole add value?

Always seems a silly debate to me, same model number and essentially the same case cept for the blowhole. If anything you'd want the one with the blowhole. Plenty of blowholed cm201bs have been sold as widows and I don't see the harm in it.
 
Black widows do NOT have a top blowhole, end of and stores get it wrong, also edit out any competitors you have mentioned please. Stores get it wrong, they are 201b variants and do not have the Black Widow name.

It is only a name, there are 30 odd 201's in different colours, blowhole and window combinations, the 201b without a top blowhole is the black widow.

Some stores and people think all black 201's and Praetorians are black widows, they are not as was debated in another thread.

201's are not Black Widows, you can not have a silver Black Widow, they are 201's, the champaign sides, silver front blowholed windowed 201 is the 201-SX2.

Not a brown Black Widow.
