I've just bought myself a Desire and was also about to buy a new satnav. But before I do, how good is CoPilot on Android?

2 desires and cant get it activated on either and a total lack of response

do a google about Co-pilot problems and you will sit for hours reading nasty stories
(i wished I had listened)
£27 down the drain - beyond useless if it wont install correctly....
my 2p

Works perfectly fine for me on my HTC Hero, quite pleased with it all told. That said if there's horror stories on the Desire then why not stick with the free google one?

activation is just a code you receive when you purchase via email. Did you use your Google email account to sign up?

Yes I used googlemail
I Know what the activation code is - it just does not want to accept it at all
i get every time is activation unsuccesful but sadly after 300 attempts it does not want to work

thats odd. each time i change my ROM is just activates fine

have you tried uninstalling and removing all files from you SD card?

copilot work fine on my desire BUT updated recently, stopped working, asking for google checkout order number, it wont activate. doubled check google order number, cant use it anymore. dont know why

just emailed to their support. see what happen

I used copilot for a while on my Magic, had issues with an early (and non-'stable') version of cyanogenmod, but not sure I can blame that on Copilot,

But since google released the navigation stuff for the uk I've used that exclusively (before I seemed to decide at the time before the hacked nav for the uk and copilot, mainly due to the hacked nav not actually giving directions until you're at the junction/roundabout, obviously the proper version of the google software doesn't do that :p)

But as said, there's really no need to pay £27 for copilot (ignoring the seemingly regular activation issues) when the google software is completely free and very usable :)

You could give Sygic a try, the directions and mapping is really great but my only gripe is the use of their own keyboard which has tiny ass keys. It costs the same as Copilot however.

Navigon is also very good (mapping is realtime smooth and pretty too) if a little more feature-less in settings.

I now use Navigon and Google Maps nav on my Desire.

I paid for copilot, then reformatted phone, then couldn't reinstall because it said i hadn't purchased it when I logged in to their account.

I tried contacting support as I was making a 100mile trip that day. Because I was 2 days over the 3 month help via phone they wouldn't help me. all they needed to do was flick a switch.

stay clear from CoPilot - a sham of a company.

Google navigation works just fine too, I have no problems with it
