copy texts from mobile onto computer

my phone screen has decided to break so will be ringing orange in a minute to replace. however i have a load of texts on my phone and contacts which i believe are stored on the internal memory. how can i get them off?

i have tried plugging the phone in with usb but the only folders i can find are the one for the removable memory card.

If it's a Sony Ericsson, MyPhoneExplorer should do the trick. Only for SE though...

get them to only replace the screen? / ask them about it im sure they can do it, they might charge though

Does your Nokia PC Suite not work for backing up sms, contacts etc?

i've had a look but unsure where to find them which folder etc. the ionly thing i can find is inbox but i have texts stored in folders.

because the phone is broke in other places so really does need to be replaced.

i have just done a backup using nokia phone suite. will this backup my messages folders? it only says messages and looking in the messages folder on the phone there is no sign of my folders just the inbox folder is that makes sense
