copying entire hard drive

I'd like to copy the contents of my hard drive exactly onto another HDD. I know it's simple to copy over individual partitions with something like Norton Ghost but as I boot from the first partition on the disk I'm copying from, will I run into problems with the master boot record?

nope, Ghost uses a boot floppy.

do drive copy,
both hard drives will be identical.

Ghost runs of a bootable CD, and will do it.

Select the option in windows with it and follow the instructions.

Ghost can run on whatever you want provided you make it bootable ie CD, DVD, USB Pen, Floppy .etc

i didnt find ghost easy to use when i tried it, i couldn't be bothered to RTFM so i gave up

Try GParted, looks like it's more user friendly (and powerful) than Ghost.
