I'm desperately trying to figure out how to copy music from my audio CD's to my Mac HD/straight to an mp3 player without the audio format being AIFF...which macs seem to use as default. Why they can't just use mp3 is beyond me.

Anyway, how on earth do I take these files as mp3's? I don't want the trouble of having to export as AIFF/M4A then run them through a converter making them mp3. That's just a pain!

I'd be better off buying her an ipod.

For the love of God, use AAC or at the very least.. MP3 with a higher bitrate than 128kbps.

It makes me cry when people say they have huge collections.. yes, that sound like poop.

Exactly.

AAC @ 128kbps beats a 192kbps MP3. I personally use 192kbps AAC - good enough to be virtually indistinguishable from the CD.
