I currently have a Dyson cylinder type vacuum cleaner and I find it a complete pain to use and store.

I only have a small house and all floors are laminate, so I was considering a cordless handheld vac with a wall mounted charge point.

Does anyone have any advice? I was thinking maybe the Dyson V6, or is there anything as good for less money?

I've got the V6. Gets used 90% of the time over the proper vacuum. Just be aware that you're unlikely to clean a whole house on one charge and it's not as powerful as a full size. Although it's still plenty and the ease of just grabbing it from the wall and cleaning things like stairs.

I have a V8, also have a small flat with all laminate and a few rugs. I've used the V8 exclusively since I got it, old vac hasn't even been looked at. I also bought the accessory pack with a flexible hose, there are some places it just won't go without this. I also use it in the car. Best cleaning purchase I've ever made.

Yeh the V8 looks to be the best.

It's considerably more than I'm prepared to pay for a vacuum cleaner though :p

I know it has more attachments and a much better battery, but is it much more powerful than the V6?

There's an offer on the v6 fluffy with extra heads and what not at Argos. I've been toying with the idea of picking one up for the past week...

I know the V8 battery life is double. Just had a read about power, in low power mode the V8 actually has slightly less power, helping to extend the battery, the V8's high power mode is 15% more powerful than the V6.

Love my V8 absolute, check about on ebay dyson store sometimes you get refurb/ex display models with good discounts they pop up every now that then.

I haven't touched the old vacs since, by the time I got the old one out plugged in and started I would have finished with the cordless Dyson !

Likewise! It's a great bit of kit. With two cats and a dog it's a hassle to get the proper hoover out all the time, but with the Dyson it gets done more often as it's so easy. It's worth checking out the Dyson Outlet on eBay. You can get some bargains on there.

I've the V6 Total Clean that comes with all the heads. It's a great bit of kit and I find I never need to use it on the boost setting on account of the carpet head which is upgraded over some of the lesser models.

I bought mine from Dyson with a bit of cashback.

I've got a V6 Handstick that I use exclusively in a 5 bedroom semi. I just do a small vacuum often which mitigates its "short" battery life of 20 minutes of continuous use.

I got a robot vacuum (Neato). Does a better job than my big Dyson, defo recommend it.
I also have a handheld Dyson for little jobs / car / stairs, that's also very good.

We've got the v6 animal for our 3 bed semi. Keep an eye on the Dyson outlet store on ebay.
Pretty sure it was £150 refurbished with a 1 year warranty (actually gave us 2 years when I activated it).
One of the best things I've bought for the house - well worth it, dishwasher being number 1 :p

Can't seem to find the outlet store for some reason.

Ah if only I had room for a dishwasher in my kitchen :p
