I am well and truely fed up with my Dyson crappy ball thing its terrible, bad design, cheap plastic, I'll never buy a Dyson anything again.

Anyone recommend a good cordless one?

I think the idea of having it all in your hand, not having to lug the box bit behind you and no cables just has to be the way forward.

Budget I dunno, up to maybe £200 if it really is worth it over a cheaper one, obviously if I can get a good one for less.

If it can be purchased from Amazon that is also bonus (I dont think Overclockers are in the maket for Vacuum cleaners so I dont believe any forums rules will be broken!)

Thank in advance.

EDIT: I should mention for a house, we have hard flooring downstairs, but carpet on the stairs, landing and in the bedrooms.

We have a Dyson cordless think it was £150 years ago.
Recently got another cordless to use upstairs from Lidl only £50 does the same thing.
So buy 2 lidl cordless for different parts of the house :D

Yeah I drove to my local Lidl on Tuesday night, sold out :(

Otherwise I would have got that one, heard its not bad for £50.

Don't have any recommendations but I agree on the Dyson. The one we have is crap, rarely can you just switch it on and use it as there's always something wrong - filter blocked, filter fallen out, flap stuck, brush not spinning. Don't blame you for looking for something else.

Thanks guys.

I have come to a couple of conclusions having a goog trawl through the products and various reviews.

The shark vacuum cleaners do indeed get a good write up as someone mentioned above, although quite pricey, and there a a few negative comments.

The Bosch ones get an even better write up, infact one particular Bosch BCS111GB has hardly any negative feedback, I like the look design, and the batteries are interchangable with other bosch products, which not so much for the interchangeability (wow big word right) but it'll mean the batteries are more common, thus cheaper and easier to get hold of, but.......at £289, I am not sure I want to spend that much given that I dont need a new one as a necessity.

Cheaper ones seem very much hit and miss, and I dont trust a lot of the Amazon reviews for some.

I think what I will do is wait until black friday, which isnt miles away and see if there are any good deals and either a shark or bosch. Otherwise, I may just put up with my one for a bit longer, becuase I think these are a little like electric cars, they are getting better all the time and the technology is rapidly improving as more will move to a cordless design.

I bought the VAX Blade 24v TBT3V1H1 from Direct Vacuums factory refurbished for £83 - works great and can zip around our 2 bedroom maisonette and use 50% of the battery on full power mode + motorised roller (1 bedroom carpeted)

Only issue was they initially sent me the equivalent Hoover Discovery which I wasn't interested in so sent it back and they sent out the correct one.
