The Core 2 Duo will be unveiled at an event scheduled for July 27
at Intel's headquarters in Santa Clara, Calif.,
a company spokesman confirmed Tuesday.
Intel CEO Paul Otellini and other executives will be on hand
to unveil the chip that marks the end of Intel's Pentium era.


Allendale processor E6300 and E6400, with 2MB of L2 cache

Conroe processor E6600 E6700 and E6800, with 4MB of L2 cache

Late winter Launch
Kentsfield processor Quad-core L2 cache 8MB ( 2 x 4MB )


Just cant wait that long ... i will have no nails left ... :D

so many counter rumours going around - would be good to see an officila Intel press release of some kind
 
If this is from The Inquirer then there will be hell to pay, but the article actually states a source that isn't "some guy we talked to on the bus" or "the guy who served us in McDonald's today," so it's probably not them.

I don't know though... it says Intel will unveil the processors on July 27th is that the same as the release date? :confused: Tell me. :p
 
Well I would say there is little hope of anyone getting a "release" chip before the 27th, but hey if people are "sure " they can get cpu's in advance of Intel unveiling who are we to argue...........
 
Ah the good old we can get you one this weekend tactic.

You pay up and they reserve you one, which is then delayed and delayed and delayed until guess when? yup, the 27th of July, the same time as eveyone else gets one :)

Maybe, but all I did was phone a few competitors and ask a simple question. The answer was the 14th, I've no idea if thats correct or not, just repeating what I was told.
