It'll eliminate a lot of software niggles that you'd otherwise waste time testing. It won't take so long to do on a gaming rig. And from my experience, the occasional reinstall does XP a power of good anyway.

Windows 7 is on the shopping list as I am still on XP

Reinstall windows.

If you have to do it on a seperate partition if you want a quick fix just to see.

Update your bios, check temps.

My M/B didn't like my Q6600 at all when I installed it, I had to remove it again, reinstall the old chip, flash the board, reinstall hte Q6600 ;p
