Core i3 system advice

After doing some research I've decided to opt out of going for a Phenom 555BE and jump on the intel band wagon, specifically an i3. My rig will be mainly used for Gaming and HD video.

Few question:

1) As these chips overclock so well, is there much reason to go for the 540 over the 530, will they both hit 4ghz?

2) What motherboard should i go for, I don't want to spend more than £90 and I need a spdif on it. Not super fussed about Xfire etc or int' GFX. just needs to be OC friendly

3)What memory spec do I need if I intend to fiddle the FSB to get to my 4ghz aim.

cheers guys...

Really!?

Been changing my mind on a setup over and over now, this is reminding me of why I opted out of pc based stuff 6 years ago becasue the platforms were changing so much.

So the i3 has basically come and gone very quickly? Will AMD's future chips be released for the AM3 boards then? If so would it be more wise in regards to futureproofing to go with a phenom x2 which is fairly similar to i3 for gaming, and then be able to use future cpu's from amd into 2011/12.

I basically want to get an affordable dual core setup but on a platform that is still going to be supported over the next year or so, so then, in say 2 years I can upgrade to the high end cpu's that will be around next year. (hope that makes sense!)
