Core i5 or i7 for gaming?

Haha I was just perusing the OC machines myself bru mate.

This puppy: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-101-OE

With Win 7 HP ed. 64 bit, and the HD 5870, came in at £1254.72 (without a monitor) - nice machine, but possibly overkill for me?

Also, do I not need an internal wireless card in the machine itself?

When are the new cards announed? Is there a date that anyone knows of - as I'm gagging to get a new machine :)

I know that you can't ever keep up with technology as far as computeres are concerned - unless you are uber-rich of course! :) It may be worth me waiting a fortnight to see how the new cards are getting on. I certainly won't wait any longer than this. If the cards bear up well, I could possibly get OC to put one into the Viper (and it may improve performance slightly and not cost me an arm and a leg more).

I asked a question on another thread with regard to the 5870 vs the 480 and the concensus was that the 480 is the faster card. It is also, hotter and noisier, so I am tor in two as to which of the cards to go for. I was kind of hoping that the 6xxx series could sort the problem, by providing cards as fastas the 480, which run cooler and quieter!

My wireless router lives in the hallway due to stupid phoneline positioning. Therefore I require a wireless PC internet connection. Would the Viper or Dreadnought systems require a wireless card fitted (as I don't see them listed in the components)?

Also - how did you get the Ultima Viper link attached to the words in your post (#57) - I've often wondered how people do this?! :)
