Core Temp 0.95

Have you noticed any temp changes?

Seems to work the same for me as the 0.94 version.

I like the feature that it actually displays temp readings for each core when it's minimized. Simple and very handy. ;)

**WARNING**

Just tried the new 'NON BETA' Core Temp 0.95 and it crashed my PC

Core2Duo 6600 @ 3.51Ghz
Asus P5wdg2-ws Professional

I think I'll stick to the 'Beta' version that don't crash my PC :p

lol hardly! It's the first time this PC has ever crashed!
The fact older versions of coretemp work fine indicates to me that its more likely changes in the software rather than my quality hardware thats causing the issue!!

Ferret I'd drop your overclock immediately, reseat your HSF and ensure that all case fans are working in your PC then check your temps again on stock. 83C is dangerously close to the limit for a C2D cpu. Intel states that their safe temp is less then 90C. The highest temp I've seen before was around 70 and that was a poor HSF connection.

If you still have high temps then look for guides on lapping your CPU as there must be a problem with the connection to the HSF.

What HSF are you using atm?

well its added another 15 degrees to my temps, I'm now at 83 degrees celcius when loaded!!

Thats on a E4300 btw

:(

Same here mate which reading is accurate core temp 94, 95 or speed fan surely I would suffer random restarts and excesive amounts of heat coming out of my case if it was actually running at 80c+ which I dont

cheers Darg but I've already reseated the heatsink twice and have now changed to a scythe ninja with 120mm fan but it hasn't made a difference to the temperatures.

my vcore is only at 1.325 btw so I'm hardly pumping loads of volts into it.

I also have very good case cooling in an Akasa eclipse case.

hey matty,

just noticed you have the same mobo and cpu cooler as me, do you think its just a coincidence that we both have high temps??

Did you have any problems fitting the ninja onto your cpu? Mine was quite tricky but I reseated it twice now and I've tried the stock cooler.

Or it's the software telling him fibs and he could check his bios for as true a reading as he's going to get.

Agree, also try using one of your human sense's ie touch :p
The base of the hsf would be pretty damn hot if the 80C+ reading was accurate.

It was a bit tricky to fit it Im going to reseat it today and upgrade bios to 0505 hopefully that will help.l

No the bottom of the heatsink would be cool still if it wasn't seated properly!
