Core unlock problems

hi guys

i built my pc today

everytime i unlock the other core my pc freezes at the windows 7 starting windows screen then restarts itself

im using this board http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-424-AS

and this cpu http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-282-AM&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=1945

when unlocked it shows as the phenom ii quad core in bios but just freezes when starting windows?

do you think the other core is defective or do you guys have any pro bios tips to get it stable

if it helps i updated to the latest bios for the board to.

Could be just a defective core,since its a triple core to start with.
I tried the same for a friend of mine with the same CPU and we didnt even get that far as to unlock the 4th core,not all of them will.

Im no expert on this but try upping the Vcore.

As above try bumping the voltage

how do i increase the voltage guys. i cant seem to find it under cpu config in the bios.

or am i lookking at the wrong bit in the bios ? lol

Not sure what it will be in te bios as u are running an amd, it will be called CPU Vcore..
If you google your mobo about overclocking it will tell you there what it will be called or in the mobo manual

Ok i tried increasing the voltage and the same problem remains

Do you think that the 4th core is faulty or is there something else i could try?
