Coretemp issue

Hi guys

I have been noticing a pattern lately. Whenever I run Prime95 the coretemp always seem to freeze or disappears from the screen periodically. When I click on it, it shows in the coretemp titlebar : 'coretemp not responding'. The temp values displayed seem to be mainly idle values. Btw it is coretemp 0.998 which I believe is the latest version and prime95 is version 25.11. I also experienced similar problem with coretemp 0.996.

However coretemp seems to work perfectly when running orthos or intel burn test. Any ideas? Did any of you experience the same situation?

try realtemp its just as good and free

I have been reading that real temp gives 5C lower values than coretemp :confused:

Edit: I compared the latest Realtemp v3.60 with coretemp 0.998 and they both seem to give similar readings. However I would still like to know why coretemp does that or is it some kind of bug?

Don't think RealTemp works with some AMD CPUs, not sure what you're running.

use HW monitor here, works just as well as coretemp if not better

who ever told you that need a slap if i have them running at same time there exactly the same
