I've searched for this but what I find seems to be the opposite of what I have. I'm looking for the one temperature I should look for regarding my cpu temperature (it's an E6420 @3.0Ghz). Now from the posts i've searched it seems Coretemp and TAT (which I cant use) gives the most accurate reading which is often a higher reading than other monitoring software, however the coretemp readings are lower than all the other monitor's reading by a few degrees (34ish instead of 38-40ish) and the cpu temp in speedfan goes up to 60 (the one actually labeled cpu, not temp1, temp2 etc).

Do you still think i should rely on the Coretemp readings?

(And if anyone could give me some hints on another post I made further down called Advice that would be magic :p )

Cheers.

Apparently its to do with what chipset you have. Anyway i'm not too bothered, I just want to know the deal with the temp differences?
