I've searched for this but what I find seems to be the opposite of what I have. I'm looking for the one temperature I should look for regarding my cpu temperature (it's an E6420 @3.0Ghz). Now from the posts i've searched it seems Coretemp and TAT (which I cant use) gives the most accurate reading which is often a higher reading than other monitoring software, however the coretemp readings are lower than all the other monitor's reading by a few degrees (34ish instead of 38-40ish) and the cpu temp in speedfan goes up to 60 (the one actually labeled cpu, not temp1, temp2 etc).

Do you still think i should rely on the Coretemp readings?

(And if anyone could give me some hints on another post I made further down called Advice that would be magic :p )

Cheers.

Why can't you use TAT ???

Apparently its to do with what chipset you have. Anyway i'm not too bothered, I just want to know the deal with the temp differences?

TAT doesnt work on the Asus P5N-E SLi nforce 650
Believe core temp every time, most other programs use the socket temp, the latest version of speed fan shows the core temperature but they arnt labeled as such.
