Cornwall in June

Padstow has become a proper Tourist trap. I used to stay local to there as a nipper but it's over run with people now and all shops just sell tat. :(

Great coastal walks mind you, but that can be said for pretty much the whole of Cornwall.

If you like a decent beach that you can surf from but don't want all the chumps from Newquays Fistral beach then Try staying on Trevose head around Constantine beach. Backs onto a bloody great golf course and as of yet hasn't been descended on by the great unwashed.
I was in Peranporth, Portreath, Camborne and Gwithian last weekend visiting rents

Aha, so you're the one buying all the houses so us locals can't afford them? :p Rabble rabble!

My brother goes on about all the Londoners buying up everything so he can't afford to get on the ladder.
I guess it's a sore point down there.
Dad has lived in and around Cornwall since 1990 odd.
Cheltonian originally. :D

I'm going to Cornwall in June too :P

Me and some mates want to go for a week, we thought about camping but then realised we probably wouldn't cope with using public toilets/showers and not having a warm place to sleep in at night so we're gonna go caravaning now!

It is a sore point for many of us. My bro was looking at paying 500/month rent for a single bedroom house (1 up 1 down) in a place like Redruth... it's crazy prices.

Wages are ****e down here too (I get < 16k for a 2nd-line support IT job), house prices start at 200k, and rent is stupid expensive too. It's no joke!

Harlyn bay isn't far from pastow. Beautiful cliff walks around travone. As said before, padstow just gets rammed with tourists not much to do either apart from eat pasties and visit one of Rick steins shops.

went camping in st.agnes june last year, day 1 very strong winds and a campsite full of downed tents.
days 2,3 and 4 superb. perenporth walk over the cliffs was stunning, meal at sennen (spelling), and trip to eden project. all in all would love to go back, july this year maybe.

This is a area of the lizeard in cornwall called Gunwalloe/berepper.

You can walk from Mullion golf club, past Church cove, along the coast to Loe and onto Porthleven. if you are really keen you can get all the way around to Penzance.

There is the Goonhilly tracking station nearby(marked)

the Flambards experience which is a theme/fun park and RMAS Coldrose where there is a viewing enclosure.

Also close by is Gweek Seal sanctuary.

Aha, I'm staying in Gunwalloe this week :D

Church Cove is very nice.

Culdrose airday is on 20th July, if you like that sort of thing and can delay your trip a little then that's very worthwhile.

sounds like one of our 2nd liners
you NHS?

The lizard. We went there last week on holiday :) We especially like Gunwalloe because it's nearly always empty.

Another place for nice walks is from St Michaels Mount all the way into Penzance. It's all along the coast and has some great views.

Plenty of Seals at Godrevy which is opposite St Ives and its a nice walk from Godrevy to the devils mouth which has a cafe.

BTW, have a nice time :)
