Correct me if I am wrong?

Where sli works properly, 970sli will beat a 980TI decently in most cases. Yes an overclocked 980Ti might match 970 sli but then you can of course overclock the 970's as well.

At higher resolutions the 980Ti seems to reign in 970 sli though and it becomes close.

pretty tricky situation but if I was on your shoes I would probably sell your 970 and get a 980Ti, even if it will cost you about £100 more than going 970 sli.

980ti all day every day.

Can't believe 970 sli would even be contenplated.

Why not? I agree I would probably go for the faster single card but 2 970's is a cheaper and slightly more powerful solution providing driver support on new releases.

That 3.5gb of vram is going to hurt 970 sli with memory intensive games when maxed.

Ti is the better option and best suited to handle future games that eat vram.

Many reasons bro. Better minimums, a lot more ram, no sli issues to worry about, having to wait for proper sli drivers etc, need I go on?

Yeah, I know all that. It's also a lot more money. To say SLI 970's shouldn't even be contemplated when it's the best "cheap" solution for the OP is a bit wide of the mark. I've yet to play a game where the 970 memory has caused issues though that's just at 1440p. Only if the OP is going above that res, would I agree that SLI shouldn't be contemplated.

I disagree. If you are looking to spend that kind of money, £30-£50 extra is not exactly a lot more. I will stick with my original statement.

I would sell the 970 and go 980ti personally, due to more VRAM and single card stability and smoothness but what ever you do it will be a nice performance increase! :)

Don't forget the big negatives SLi'ing... heat and noise. Would I SLi again... hell yeh! ;) I am very impressed with the reviews the 980Ti's are getting. My 4gb 680's have only recently started to struggle...namely The Witcher 3 is giving my PC a beating. :( Dunno what I want to do. Think if I can, I will wait for Star Citizen to be released then buy the latest pair of Ti's.
