Why don't I see any 4 gb memory modules? Well recently a 4x4 came on here... But is it not better with a set of two 4GB modules compared to a 4x 2GB modules?
It depends on what you mean by "better". So far, 4GB modules are not great OCers but I expect that to change as the ICs mature. Currently, I think they are available as fast as 1333.
Yeah, I wondered too if there was some special case about it, as I seemed to recall there being quite a few ddr 2 ones, and then suddenly they were all gone... I read nothing about the reason though.

The ICs are/were very expensive to manufacture which makes the memory kits VERY expensive. Not many people want to pay more for DDR2 than you would for DDR3. 4GB die ICs in DDR2 were too little too late.

Now there is, mach extreme have just released 1600mhz and 2000mhz dual channel 8gb (4x2gb) kits. I posted in the memory section, the topic is right underneath yours.
Sacrifice a big chunk of it and you could image your game/app of the moment onto it for some lightning quick performance. Heck, with that much it might even be possible to fit the OS on there too - if only someone could solve the boot-loading issue... mmmmm .... speedy! SSDs are for luzors - ramdrives are the real deal
