Just wondering what the correct procedure is when my new card arrives. I'm going from nvidea to amd. Shall I uninstall the drivers and software from nvidea (will it still work??) then shut down, swap the cards, go online (will it work??) and get the latest AMD drivers and software?

Right, sorry :)

If you do as i explained with the old card in, turn the PC off once back into windows and swap the cards out, then fire the pc up and install the new drivers.

OK thanks. Got it. So I manually uninstall the drivers, then that program will u install something else, and then it will ask me to restart in safe mode to complete.

It will ask that and if you click Yes it will do it its self, once in safe mode press the remove drivers button. once its done that it will automatically reboot into normal mode.

Then turn off the PC, istall new card and...

Thanks. I've got it. :)
Just one query. If this program does the uninstalling for me. Why do I need to uninstall the drivers myself first?

DDU isn't designed to unistall drivers, what it does is sweep the PC for all the crap that's left behind after unistall. :)

just run DDU select the bottom option ( remove then shut down ) this will reboot your PC into safe mode then remove the display drivers once complete it will shut down your PC. then replace the old card with the new and turn your system on and follow your install process ...

Well i usually nuke my drivers this way and DDU does a mighty fine job at it, dont care to uninstall first and never had to either, so good a job actually that the creator will be getting a donation come januar. Just love that utility app.

I made a right mess of this once and ended up doing a fresh windows install to sort it out so the last time I did it I uninstalled all the NVidia software and drivers then ran ddu to clear everything else out then shutdown to install new gpu and so far so good with no problems with my fury
