Hi Everyone,

I have a weird problem with my old Iwill motherboard, I keep having to reinstall windows, and after a couple of days use I get an error message saying I have corrupt files and I can't start windows, not even in Safe Mode.

So here's what I've tried so far, brand new hard drive, new IDE cables, moved from primary to secondary ide, moved from secondary IDE to Raid. Tryed all three memory modules one at at time and in different slots.

ALso

If I never actually shutdown the PC it seems to reboot everytime, but the very moment, I shut down the PC and leave it for 10-15 minutes, I get the corrupt files again. I have reinstalled probably 10 times already. And I'm a bit stuck as to what to try next. Motherboard?, PSU?, Processer?

This is driving me crazy, anybody have any idea what else i can try.

I had this problem awhile back and it was something to do with my motherboard. i bought a new motherboard and it was fine !! :D

Just had a thought last night, I use Norton Ghost to create back up images, and I'm thinking that the problem started at about the same time. Anybody ever heard of this program causeing corruption on the hard disk and crashing the PC?

I norton is the cause it would only do it when creating images, i find it very unlikely that this process could currupt windows.
As you can't write an image to the drive that you are imaging, hence its only reading from the primary drive, if anything it would currupt the drive your writing the image to.
