i have had my pc running fine since xmas ( apart from a psu that blew up aprox 1 month ago ) , it is made up of the following :

Abit ip35
Q6600 @3.4 gig
2 x 1gb geil ddr2 ultra 6400
8800gts 512 mb

today i came home and the wife told me that the pc would not start up,, when i looked it was just "frozen" at the press "del" part of the boot up
I have tried clearing the cmos , removing battery / resetting jumper etc .
99% of the time unless i spam the delete button right at the beep post the pc will freeze , however if i am lucky i can get into the bios and change stuff.
Does this sound like a bios gone corrupt ? as it is freezing at the same place 99% of the time , right after the post beep.
another thing i have noticed happen a few times of late , when i restart the pc to try to get it going it turns on for a brief second then turns of then on again as it is meant to,, but sometimes the post that is meant to follow does not happen. resulting in me having to hit the reset button.

What error doe's it give on the LED panel?

by led pannel do u mean the red and green led on the MB , and if so how do i read them to tell what code i am getting.

EDIT : just been reading on the web and looking to see what u meant by led panel. and it seems my board does not have an led panel as it is not the PRO version, mine is just the IP35 dark raider edition.

Check the RAM voltages. ABit IP35 is really picky about them. Make sure they are high enough. (I know there's no reason why they will have changed, but you never know)!

good Luck.

Agree with Shrapnel on this one, had the same problem and it was RAM voltages - Bios defaults to 1.8v on the Abit IP35 Pro but my RAM needs 2.1

Changed it manually and all is now well.
