when i try to access one of my drives (not the c drive) window shows it as unformatted and 0kb.....partion magic shows it as correctly have 80 gigs of data..if i run the partion magic disk check it says no errors....every time i boot windows says theres a problem with the drive and runs chkdisk...it finds no errors and continues to boot and then the drive is shown as raw and cant be accessed....any ideas as to what to do next?

the only message i get from chdisk is
the second ntfs boot sector is unwriteable

anyway to get the data off the drive in a readable state?

There has been several threads with this type of subject recently, like this one, a few searches will turn them up. However let me reiterate that you should ideally never try to recover files *on* the broken disk, but should get another disk and try to recover onto that. I would suggest trying something like FileScavenger as a first attempt as it's been found to be pretty good at recovering files from broken filesystems.
