Corsa problem

Hi all,

The mother in laws 2005 corsa has developed an odd fault.

ABS light is on, car goes forward but won't reverse. I haven't been round myself to check it out but that is all I've been told. Last night she had to crawl home as it didn't seem like it wanted to move.

Any ideas what I can check when I go round?

after a bit of reading tonight it seems like this could indeed be the case.

She is bringing it around in the morning and I'll check it over, get the old gas torch on them to warm them up a bit and get it up and down the drive.

Is she even sure the rear wheel sare moving as a frozen handbrake cable in this weather is pretty common causing the rear wheels to lock and this would be why the the ABS light is on, if so she really shouldnt be driving the car.

we aren't sure, but we live 100 yards down the road, I just can't go out tomorrow as gas man is coming round.

The good old drum brakes which seize. Quick knock with a rubber mallet and it will ping back into place.
