Corsa vxr laps the ring in 8m 47 secs

Still say this was the most fun for me on the VXR day, all the other stuff was too understeery, this thing was cracking.

One of the older instructors couldn't stop raving about it, he said if you could get one with less lairy bumpers he'd of had one.

Have you driven the Clio equivalent by any chance?
comparison???

doesn't really surprise me, evo mag were singing the praises of this car months ago, I think i'd still rather have a Fiesta ST though were I buying a new car in this sector.

I have but not really a fair comparison, had the salesman in the passenger seat and other half in the back :)

Although the salesman is a top bloke (always seem to get him when I go for random Renault test drives, oops) and had me giving a bit of stick. Thoughts were it handled very well, brakes very nice, but lacked punch. Now without having a go on track (next year I plan to though at a Renaultsport trackday) I couldn't say if the lack of punch is just the engine being smoother than the previous version in the 172/182, or if it really is lacking. The Corsa engine did seem to surge quite nicely, but wasn't as peaky.

I do want to have a go in the corsa vxr, and would be good to compare to my 197. Now that my 197 has run in and gotten used to launching it, I think it's pretty quick to 60 and 100, comparable with the vxr definately (have a rubbish video also cough cough :p).

Right now I don't think there is a bad choice for hot hatches, all of them have their positives and negatives, and they're all much of a muchness and comes down to personal brand preference and aesthetics in my opinion.

Very respectable laptime from the corsa, certainly wouldn't mind owning one, but I have the clio instead!

It's a very quick and capable car, but it's still a corsa. Looks are very important to me. Not the image, but I have to like the look of a car. (when buying anything other than a daily driver)
