Corsair 500D RGB or Phanteks P500A (Help me decide which one).

Nice! I'm sure you know but that one doesn't include the rgb fans and I don't think the rgb on the psu shroud. Nice looking case thou.
Yeh missing the D-RGB control on top of the case but comes with 2xRGB 140mm fans and I have the 3 pack I bought for the other case so that will do me. The case is identical otherwise and like @Ree above maybe a magnetic led strip or two to finish off.

Sounds like a nice build coming up, make sure to take pics and share. See your making me want a p500a again

Sorry mate but have had several Phantek cases over the years and just love them. You can probably tell I am not very patient when it comes to ordering stuff. So i have now ordered the Phantek Digital RGB kit for my P500A, might as well. :D

Ok Im back at it again ... saw this case here

IMO its a nice looking case even if its cheap. The front rgb fans look good when you can see them. Only problems with this case thou from what I read - the fans are not pwm and they are Really loud.

oh and check what I found ...

there was a small article on techpowerup but it got pulled - looks like they are coming out with a bigger 4000d - but it looks a bit big ie here are the dimensions of all the cases Im considering.
phanteks 500a hwd 510 x 240 x 505 mm
corsair 500d se hwd 507 237 500
antec df600 flux hwd 486 220 467
Corsair 5000d airflow 520 245 520 (HxDxW)
Corsair 4000d airflow 453 230 466 mm
Corsair 450d (current case) 494 210mm 497mm

a bit on the big side - compared to my current case. Im thinking they might update their 500d rgb line at somepoint.

anyways some more food for thought ...

Aw man that looks sweet! Just cant bring myself to put water into a computer, just doesn't feel right.

I won't lie to you! It was pretty terrifying :D Although using I pressure tested everything bit by bit, then pressure tested the loop overnight as well so I was pretty confident there wasn't going to be any leaks. Dismantling a 3090 was also a little nervy! I had pictures in my head of the card being screwed when I switched everything back on!

I like the look of the 5000D actually. My only issue with the 500D is the length of the case, meaning I could only fit a 30mm rad at the front and be very selective with the GPU I picked to fit the XD5 pump in as well. I'd have liked to have vertically mounted the GPU as well, but there doesn't seem to be any way of supporting it to prevent sag. However I'm sure it wouldn't be difficult to fashion something up to fit between the PSU shroud and the card.

5000x
So out of left field (baseball term) - I went with this case. Classy/Glass look.
The case is a bit bigger then I would like, but the glass front and top sold me. The included fans - Ill need to get rid of and use something else.
I saw the reviews talking about how this case heats up more then the 'mesh' front but to be honest I think using 3 front 2-3 top (140s or 3 120s) and 1 120 rear will be good enough cooling; and if I really want too 3 fans on the side.

I was going to go with the 500d but its a bit dated 2.5 years old - has the commander pro/3 ll fans, but has air leakage sides.

It was a toss up - and I went with something newer.

-note- I dont need a case this big ... just putting 1 aio in this case but I really like the look. Ive been eyeing some 'cheap' acrylic front/top cases antec df600 flux, msi cases, and a few others. They just didnt have a quality feel for them. The 4000d was a little too small and no glass top.

Off putting - Almost every negative thing I have heard about the case centers around the tight space in the back of the case ie the side when you are dealing with cable management. I also don't like the harddrive placement. I want them in-line with the front fans to help cool
them. I plan to use 2 possibly 3. (Im hoping I could use my current or bought harddrive cage in the space adjacent to the psu enclosure.)

This an absolute non-issue, modern HD's don't need to be cooled by fans in the front they're fine out back, that's where mine are. I have the 500D it's a temps monster, I can easily run OC'd CPU and 3060ti and game on them for hours on end at low temps even with all my 3 front fans turned off, and just use my H115i 240MM top mounted, and the exit fan. I usually just plu 1 one to be safe.

I can't hear anythging above the exit fan which I haven't been able to get a fan curve to work for. The filters are well-thought out, downsides it's cramped out the back IMO. Nice looking case, absolutely brilliant for thermals.
