Corsair 600T build - White

Liking the braided cables, you're making me quite tempted to do the same myself.
Got that same case, and I don't like seeing the multicolours of the 24pin and pcie connectors. Yours is much more aesthetically pleasing!!
Just wondering what the best way to do the cable for the HD audio connector into the soundcard, that's the one with the most colour showing on it.

I also like the 120mm LED fan you have used at the front, I got a boring Apache there, which one is that you have, it has a nice glow, how do you rate it for airflow/noise?

Its the Xigmatek Crystal White LED fan. Works pretty well to be fair and shifts enough air without it being noisy. I have it hooked up to the case fan controller so all four case fans can be controlled easily which is another bonus with this case!

All the way up when gaming and all the way down when watching films etc.! :)

hmm Xigmateks....I'll think about it, I do love the look of yours with that extra bit of light illuminating everything nicely, cos I find that in my case it is all a bit dark underneath the graphics card. Just wondering whether to keep all white light, or maybe introduce some colour...

That card reader sticks out a bit. Didn't you get a vented front cover piece with your T600, which would fit around it? It seems no bigger than a floppy drive, so it would be a shame, aesthetically, if it is left as is. Neat system overall, though. :D

Had a little time this weekend so here's the Antec 900 card reader grille slightly modded to fit, just for you ;) Shame Corsair didn't provide one, the rest of the case is first class.

You can see the shell of a now defunct Antec 900 which has served me very well until now and which of course provided me with the grille in the first place.

I was thinking about getting a 5.25" to 3.5" bay converter which I found, it has a plastic front, and then put some nice appropriate coloured/effect vinyl on it. And maybe on the front of the card reader too..some brushed aluminium or carbon fiber effect might look cool.

Bad juju, the fan controller has failed on me. Only worked on max for a little while whilst cutting out the case fans completely if moved only slightly away from max. A few days later it died completely. Not that impressed for a case that is just over a month old!

However, I knew there was a reason why I paid the premium for Corsair products, check this out for Customer Service having emailed them with my predicament:

Dear -=Vect0r=-,

We apologize for this inconvenience. The case fan controller is not a replaceable part. Please send in the copy of your purchase invoice to k***[email protected] so our product manager can review your case for a possible whole new case replacement. Please also refer to this case number. Thank you.

Great I thought and used a screenshot from OCuK most excellent electronic purchase records and then received this email last night:

Hello -=Vect0r=-,

Our product manager has finished reviewing your case. We will send you the whole new case replacement. You don’t have to send anything back to us. Order no. 124***. Please allow 7-10 business days for delivery completion.

A complete new case just because of a failed fan controller! Corsair are made of win!

Ace result, congrats! They shipped me replacement PSU cables once for free because I lost a couple. Even told them I'd pay for the replacements.

Corsair and Logitech are the tops :).

Agreed, my son broke my $160 USD Logitech DiNovo Edge keyboard and they sent one out to me asap, before I even sent mine!!! Looking great on the build!!! Maybe braid the 24pin and pci-e??? Just a thought. If you braided those you wouldn't be a braid virgin anymore! Jk the black and white looks great!

Very clean, nicely done :)

Thanks!

I have been lucky, but its left me with a luxury problem!

Soon I'll have two cases, the 'old' braided one with failed fan controller and the new one with a working fan controller and un-braided!

Do I:

1. Re-braid new case?
2. Fit separate fan controller to existing case?

Option 2 would be by far the least effort...

Thanks for the kind words!

I thought I might leave the 24pin/pcie cables as they are already nicely braided in black without pesky coloured cabling. One of my secondary reasons for paying for a premium PSU.

Right, I'm back and its update time!

Had all this kit fitted in the 900 and the original 600t when the fan controller died... :(

Corsair came to the rescue when they sent me a complete replacement for free!

Always fancied modding the 600t and now having a backup just in case? What could possibly go wrong? :D:p

The main aim of the mod was to improve airflow and essentially upgrade the stock Corsair 200mm intake fan with a Megaflow 200mm. There is not enough room between the mobo and extract fan grille to replace the top 200mm Corsair with the 30mm thick Megaflow fan else I would have done that also.

I was inspired by Evoss and mrk efforts in removing the fan grilles on their 650D's so emulation being the greatest form of flattery I set forth.

Case stripped and ready for some dremel action:

The tool of champions! (note the lack of a cutting disc! I went through 10 of the blasted things before my work was done!)

Front shot of case cleaned up and touched up:

Cut out top grille also to minimise disruption to extract airflow:

Close-up of top grille removed:

Fans fitted. Only top 200mm extract remains stock. Would have changed it if Megaflow fitted...

Spot the additional 120mm intake fan ;)

Coolermaster Megaflow 200 fitted. Very quiet fan which shifts 110cfm. Nice.

A little braiding and personal touch received from the leading German braiding supplier ;)
