Hello

I put together my system back in June & the PSU emits a high pitched buzzing noise, it has always done this.. But recently it has got really bad (to the point where I've got to put my headset on, as it's giving me a headache).

This isn't my video, but it sounds very similar to this

Is this normal for Corsair PSU's (if so can someone suggest another PSU) or should I be looking at getting it RMA'd?

sounds like coil whine, all the corsairs PSU's I've had have done this, you should RMA it, sell the replacement and buy a better brand.

Corsair is fine if you get a decent internal OEM. - RMA and get the same PSU back or sell it and get the below. the 760i, 860i and 1200i aren't the best internals.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Corsair RM Series RM 1000 '80+ Gold' 1000W Power Supply (CP-9020062-UK) £169.99
1 x SuperFlower Leadex Platinum 1000W Fully Modular "80 Plus Platinum" Power Supply - Black (NESF-010) £167.99
1 x EVGA SuperNova 1000W '80 Plus Platinum' Modular Power Supply (220-P2-1000-XR) £167.99
1 x Be Quiet PowerZone 1000W '80 Plus Bronze' Fully Modular Power Supply £149.99
Total : £665.56 (includes shipping : £8.00).

2 Titans will be OK on 1000w.

Damn, I was hoping that wasn't the case as I chucked the packaging last week (& can't really afford to be without the machine for too long) :(

Kind of sucks when the power supply cost nearly £250 (back in June), for an RMA do I need to contact OcUK or do I need to talk to Corsair directly?

Lesson one: never trash the boxes.
Boxed stuff sells better :-)

If you bought it at ocuk, send them a webnote and someone will contact you shortly or give them a call. OCuk don't turn backs on their customers, best service ever, you'll have that sorted in no time :-)

Apparently the buzzing issue was fixed a long time ago and newer revisions do not have this issue. This is what I read on the corsair forums from Johnnyguru who works for corsair.

You can also get corsair to cross ship ie they take a credit card payment, ship out a new psu and credit your card once they receive your psu.

Just a quick update

Had a replacement AX1200i sent out, the replacement is completely silent (so it looks like the "faulty" one may have been an earlier batch) :-)
