Corsair Begins UK/EU RMA Processing

I don't think they will collect the item or pay for postage. The timeframe for that kinda thing appears to be anything between 7-28 days depending on the vendor.

One or two companies I buy from maybe would send a courier to collect a faulty item even if it was after 7-28 days but it depends how helpful there are feeling.

Worst case scenario is you have to pay £6.00 postage, not too bad!

P.S: Was your PSU mounted to the top of the case or the bottom?

It was mounted at the bottom of the case. Ive checked the return process and they do arrange a courier to collect, for which I will only be charged if the item isnt faulty. Pretty good service.

Better than spending £20+ to send it to holland anyway.

Sound good Ghost, lucky is some respects that it failed? within the first year, hopefully they test it faulty otherwise your up **** creek! Are you 100% sure its the PSU (PSU tester or MM?)

Are you trying to cheer C64 up! :D

I dont have a PSU tester, but a decent one costs £15 so probably isnt worth getting since I really wont be testing many psus in the future. Also, what do you mean by MM? Also, the corsair site suggests some very dangerous sounding test using a paperclip to short the 20 pin connecter somehow.

Hehe. Well to be fair any warranty after 1 year is a bonus. If you look at it that way it isnt that bad. Obviously it isnt nice having an item fail after a year but in so many other cases people would be glad to have any sort of warranty. Mobile phones, DVD players etc.

About flippin time! Whilst the warranty service itself was painless, it was painful to use the tracking number to track it coming back...took forever - at one point it was at east midlands airport (~50 min drive away) - but then got put on a plane to london to be delivered from there...gah!

DHL not hot on the whole carbon neutral thing obviously!

I can confirm that my problem was with the PSU after testing with another sytem and have put in an RMA request with the retailor.

Well, my corsair PSU just stopped working. This really isnt very promising. Im gonna contact the retailor first though since its within a year. Just wondering, does the retailor have to collect the item?

In the first year the retailer has to accept the RMA but whether or not they pay for it depends on their T&Cs.

Please also mark the RMA number clearly on your package, and ship your RMA to the following address:

Attn: RMA Department
Corsair Memory BV
Attn: Returns Department
Tunerstraat 3, 1322CB
Almere, The Netherlands

cheeky gits cheapest I can find is around £25 grrrr I'll send it off but i'll never buy a corsair power supply ever again unless they change their policy and get a uk shipping address it's just too expensive to send a parcel in europe from the uk.I'll stick to brands that have a uk depot like antec.

You could instead buy a new PSU made by a different brand (with a UK RMA this time) as the cost to send it to Holland is about 1/3 the price of a new one and return it to corsair later once (hopefully) they get a UK RMA procedure once (/if) Yellowbeard relays all this negative feedback to the marketing guys. This of course assumes u are well inside your 5 year warranty ;)

The thing is once a package goes above 2Kg you have to pay through the nose!

If the package weighs 2Kg or less then you get a much better deal:

2000g - Special Delivery Next Day £8.25

add one more gram to the weight . .

2001g - Special Delivery Next Day £20.70

I guess some PSU's may weigh under 2Kg without all the extras, actually I'm sure a modular PSU may just come in under 2Kg (another boon to using a modular PSU over a captive cable PSU).

I think there was some reason why I sent it SD, possibly cause SP doesnt insure it for the full value.

Standard delivery covers £36. So for my psu worth £50ish, id be paying £16 more in delivery to insure some £14 more of value. Dont see the point. Items do only go missing 1% of the time and so even paying the extra £16 isnt worth it even if the item is worth £100.

Youd have to be incredibly risk averse to pay it. The situation isnt as bad for items under 2kg though because standard and special are closer together. Besides, you can add proper insurance to standard delivery items for a couple of quid without having to go special delivery.

parcel2go are excellent. Used them to send something to the USA, it was half the price of Royal Mail, and what's more DHL collected it from my home, and it got to its destination real fast.

Yes - but the amount of paperwork that you have to fill out with them is totally ridiculous
