Evening all,

I made a rookie mistake and ordered more ram hoping to buy another Corsair dominator platinum RGB kit of 2x16GB at 5600mhz c36. Numpty me i ordered another 2x32Gb kit at 5600mhz c40.

i plugged the new kit in along side my original kit that was in there one space apart in their respective slots and even after a cmos clear all i got was a boot loop.
my mobo is a z690 aorus elite

i thought it would work and just run at c36 latency speeds on the new kit if paired up with the smaller kit? am i missing anything?

Personally, I'd try it with just the 64GB kit first and see if you can get that working stably. If you can, then go from there, I'd imagine it is better to have the larger capacity (and slightly slower) sticks in the primary slots, since if the board prioritises those it will put the smaller sticks to the slower timings.

Do you do anything with the PC that actually needs 96GB of memory?
