Does anyone else have issues with this RAM and iCue?

More often than not when I load up iCue there is a red exclamation mark triangle next to the ram, and sometimes it doesn't show up at all. Then the ram just sits there on whatever setting it was on previously.

Any ideas?

I have had similar issues and found the iCue software not intuitive. I really just messed around with it until it worked.
However, there are a few things you can check:

1. Have you updated your RAM firmware? If not, you can do this using the the update button in the settings tab. If you are already updated, just force the update just in case. This may clear your red triangle.
2. Have you got the software settings enabled? you may want to disable this when setting your patterns.
3. Do you have motherboard RGB software running? There is a known issue where the ASUS Aura creator can mess with iCue.
4. Check if you need a plug in for your motherboard. If you are only using iCue, then you shouldn't need one.

Hope this helps. I am running iCue with the Aura sync plugin being driven by ASUS armoury crate and it is working pretty well.

Hi Mate

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I've force updated the firmware a few times, it usually works ok after that for about 15-20 mins.

I do have the Asrock RGB software running, and I think this maybe causing the issue.

It's so frustrating that it can't just work! :D

To be fair, its not awful, when it stops working it just defaults to a set colour from the pattern I've chosen, so its not massively out of place. Its just annoying

It's noisy too! almost like a coil whine, I'm sure its coming from the RAM.....anyone else noticed this?
Might be worth checking the DRAM voltage is correct.
I did not have any whine, but when I installed 4 sticks on standard voltage (1.2V) the motherboard was chattering a bit on start up. I upped the voltage to the specified level (1.35) and it went away.

Yeah just checked and it’s at 1.35

shame, that would have been a nice fix :D

Starting to get fed up with this ram now

2 sticks now just go into rainbow puke mode when I turn the PC on, have to restart to get them to sync with the colour settings of the other 2 sticks.

I might start looking at alternatives

following a DRAM failure reported by the motherboard OLED last night, I've returned these for the second time.

Gone for some vengeance pro 3600mhz instead. They seem to be fine in my daughters rig
