Hey Guys

MSI Mobo x570 gaming plus
Windows 11
3 x iCUE SP120 RGB ELITE Performance 120mm PWM Fan & Lighting Node CORE
Corsair vengeance rgb ram x 2

1 fan and the 2 ram sticks are fine.

Recently 2 of the fans on the water cooler radiator started misbehaving, the lighting is mostly red and green, no effects or software can make them function properly, I tried iCue software and now SignalRGB.

The working fan is connected to 'sys fan 1 header' and node core.

The 2 dodgy fans are connected to 'cpu fan 1 header' via a splitter and to the node core.

step one is normally reset the software and make sure the sodding windows RGB setting is turned off.
"windows dynamic lighting"

it could just be the fans have gone bad due to the heat if the rad gets hot. obviously switch the ports on the node and see if the fans work or continue to have RGB problems

Hi mate many thanks for your reply, the software was a fresh install anyways, i also disabled windows dynamic lihting thanks for the heads up ;)

It turns out all my fans are ok as plugging them into port 1 of the node core was all good, it looks like port 3 is dodgy, im using port 1 and 2 now. I undertand the rules about the port order of the node core, is there a way to connect the 3rd fan to goet it performing properly again. many thanks?

my limited understand of the node is you can go into the software and set a fan number as you can have upto 3 or 6(not 100%) fan pre port

i would assume youtube will help you on that in no time,

hi mate after more experimenting i think the 2 fans on the radiator are tempremental with the lighting, i will try and get some more Corsair used fans and plug them into the node core.

Many thanks for your help :)

For the node core, you have to use the ports in order. If port 3 is dead then you're SOL as you won't be able to use port 4-6 as well.
The alternative is to use a splitter on port 1/2.

in that case make sure the rad is not running too hot, is it an AIO or custom water.

Many thanks mate, I have turned the fans around and they look a bit better for now from the front, i run Prime before and after and the cpu temp us the same, the max temp is 90 C which is the max rating for my Ryzen cpu. Is 90 C too much running prime for a long time? ;)

Many thanks mate, after experimenting it looks like the port is ok and its the rgb on the fans if a bit off, the rear of the fans looked pants on the radiator so i truened the 2 fans around and they dont look so bad cosmetically. The temps appear to be the same running Prime. ;)

what CPU? if its an AIO there shouldn't be much out there on AM4 that can push 90c apart from the the 5900x/5950x.

prime is not the best way to test cooling and to be honest i dont like the program.
i had a 2500k 18hr stable then it crashed with i opened chrome.... so yer super stable.

Thanks for your reply mate.

Mt CPU is the 5800x. Its a Cooler Master AIO is the cpu fan meant to be on 100% all the time?

What do you recommend fortesting my cooing?

use the PC in your normal ever day tasks because at the end of the day that's what matters when it come to cooling. keeping it under say 75c would be my target for a 5800x(they do get warm)

no but i would want the PUMP set to a minimum of 75% all the time so it pulling the heal away. then at 100% at over 60c

if you have not yet set a curve optimizer for your CPU this is the first thing you need to do... just go on yourtube and look up "5800x curve optimizer" its very simple but very much needed
