Put my computer to sleep earlier this morning. when i came back to the house it would not wake at all and had to reset it.

Computer would not recognize a boot device even after a dozen restarts.
The ssd is not recognized in bios.

I have tried unplugging power and leaving computer for few minutes.
Clearing cmos.
Removing ram.
Changing sata ports.

In the end i had to install windows 7 to a mechanical hdd for the time being.

Anybody had this problem before, or have any tips i could attempt to get it to work?

Cheers

Do you have a spare machine to test the ssd in? Can run chkdisk on it if you manage to get it to show up

Try unplugging the sata lead to the drive while it is powered up, I know my OCZ drives require this if doing a secure erase as they lock themselves out for some reason when booting up to a CD Rom setup disc.

This has happened to me and still does.
First of all try a different sata cable.
If that doesn't work then force the power and data cable into the ports and hold your fingers on it.
Make sure you hold both cables firmly over the sata cables. When you turn on your computer make sure you're still pushing the cables in. If it doesn't work after that I'm guessing it might be dead.

we had 3 work PCs whose SSD failed. I read somewhere once that they don't like sleep mode? Not sure how true that is!
