I noticed when I got them, that the firmware update utility did not list the drive.

I honestly just figured it was because it was already up to date, so ignored it.

When I noticed yesterday that the iobit system care software wanted to defrag my C drive, even though the detect SSD option was enabled.

So I installed SSDLife Pro, and guess what? It tells me no SSD's could be found!

I have tried it on both a SATA2 and SATA3 connection, and tried with MS AHCI drivers and intel drivers, but same thing.

This seem a little odd to anyone? Anybody have an idea what is wrong?

Format or secure erase?

Thing is, I have an image I use to restore from, so that I do not have to go through the rigmarol of having to re-install windows/updates/programs all the time (this was a clean install for this system, just to be clear).

The drive gets formatted every time I restore an image. But I have not done a secure erase....

Was the intel driver for x79 platform.

Completely removed any trace of it and drives now detected properly by ssdlife pro and firmware update utility
