Corsair going Custom Water

The 'snake' fitting and the 90degree fitting look like rebranded Bitspower ( 1minute 28secs ).

Looks like Corsair just slapping their name on existing stuff for a slice of the market.

I can see the logic from Corsair by using Aqua computer as they are not as big in the UK market as the rest of Europe. So adding the Corsair branding and reputation to the blocks and fittings will probably help that problem.

Wonder how it helps aquacomputer in the long run? If corsair build up a good rep by using aqua gear and then in the future drop them to make their own products surely this can only hurt aqua.

Kinda disappointing if corsair are just rebranding other manufacturers wc gear, I was hoping corsair would bring more fresh new products to the wc market.

It's far cheaper to rebrand and try an fool customers into thinking it is new, than spend millions on R&D.

They'll slap the logo on something, get a slight cosmetic change and claim it is new.

Corsair have become the jack of all trades, experts in none

Oh I agree I just think it's a dangerous game for some of these custom watercooling suppliers to be allowing Corsair into their market. Corsair has a huge brand name which will no doubt win over non savy and new custom wc buyers.

If corsair are rebranding products from companies like Barrow then I don't think Barrow has much to loose and plenty to gain. However companies like Aqua, Waterkool, Koolance, Swiftech do have allot to loose by helping Corsair gain a foot hold on their niche market.

It works both ways though.

The companies you mention, despite being around for years, have not established a mainstream following in the UK ( as Robbie_G pointed out )

They will be happy to shift units, via Corsair branding, rather than not - It's all extra income to them.

I too was looking forward to some new products from Corsair and won't hide the fact that I'm a little disappointed. I see this as a cost effective way by Corsair to add to the portfolio without the R&D and production costs as you guys pointed out.

I'm assuming a long term agreement has been made between them to avoid Corsair dropping them after 12 months. I think Corsair will help the reputation in the U.K. for Aqua computer but unfortunately nothing new which makes me a little disappointed.

The uk is only a small slice of the market compared to Europe, USA and the rest of the world and Aquacomputer has a solid rep in experienced wc circles. It's definitely seen as a premium wc brand. Whilst I understand they will be happy to shift product, I feel as though this could be a dangerous move from aqua but only time will tell.

Corsair has the name and potential to out sell EK in custom wc. If I was a custom wc manufacturer I would be very concerned at Corsair entering the market.

If people buy blindly by brand then i totally agree with you, and Corsairs' PSUs' are a glowing example of how standards slip over time.

Corsair do a decent range of plug and play AIOs, but i would hope that custom watercooling is approached with an amount of research by buyers, so they can see through the branding smokescreens.

Time will tell, as you say

EK and Aquacomputer customer services has let me down in the past, contacting Corsair has always been on point with RMA's and queries. It will be a brand i'm happy thats getting into this market.

Definate purchase's from me.

I'm sure I've seen some custom GPU plates... might just be a backplate on an existing block though.

I was pleased when Phanteks entered the WC zone but I honestly don't like the style of most of it. :(

The main worry for me is that Aqua computers production is not the fastest so I just hope that this has been dealt with before Corsair take over.

Not be long before they've slapped RGB on everything including fittings, if it's not RGB it's not Corsair.
