I got this information from the lab guy that generated the H70 test results. H70 and H50 tests were run back to back under the EXACT same testing conditions. MSRP is $109 US.

Inside an oven with a controlled ambient temp of 25C, we put all hardware inside an Obsidian 800D. The Asus Rampage III extreme and Core i7 were overclocked to 3.8GHz (20x190 MHz, 1.34Vcore) and the graphics card used was a GTX 295. The load was provided with Prime95 64-bit @ 100% on all cores. The test was designed to be a worst-case-scenario of heat. The test was then run at max for four hours while the temps were logged in Everest.

There was a single 120mm fan in the top panel of the 800D acting as the case’s sole exhaust.

All fans were run at 100%

Interesting. Certainly a lot of claims flying around that this knocks off 10c+. I'm finding it hard to believe. I'm sure plenty of reviews will start flying about over the next 48 hours.

That's a good question. Personally I think that because the fans can run at 2 different speeds, they must be using an inline cable with a resistor or switch to change the voltage, and it makes sense to have 1 resistor for each fan. I doubt they are PWM fans too as that would entail letting the motherboard take control of the fan speeds using PWM and not Voltage control. Either way, even at the lowest setting they are probably too noisy which is why I'd like to see the H70 tested with a pair of fans like Akasa Apaches which have moderate noise levels.

Would be nice if there was another SKU that came with no fans therefore being cheaper. Right now H70 + 2xvipers = £115 ∴ no thx

Also theres no comparison of the H50 with 2 fans

re:

H50 ships with 1 fan, H70 ships with 2. So its obvious the H70 would be better.

I use the H50 and I have tried many configurations but find having 2 fans makes no difference what so ever...
Has anyone else noticed improvement over running 1 fan to 2 ????

So in my personal view its not the shipped with 2 fans that`s doing the job but the increased radiator or the new design?????
Cheers

Well i am waiting for proper reviews of this before i decide between this and the Coolit eco c240. Although the coolit is a bit more money if the performance is there i don't mind and in reality from what i can read so far there isn't a 10-15 degree difference between the h50 and 70 it is more like 6-7 degrees.
