Corsair H70 Internal Testing Results

I use the H50 and I have tried many configurations but find having 2 fans makes no difference what so ever...
Has anyone else noticed improvement over running 1 fan to 2 ????

So in my personal view its not the shipped with 2 fans that`s doing the job but the increased radiator or the new design?????
Cheers
mrix

When i had an H50 adding a second fan did not help that much. In fact i was surprised at how little difference going from the single stock fan to 2 high performance fans. I didnt do the most accurate of tests or anything but i wouldnt say i did any better than 1c or maybe 2c after load of p95.

The claims from corsair of the H70 beating out the H50 by 10-13c was laughable. All they done is increased radiator thickness. Its still 120 with thin tubing & limited coolant. How this was meant to improve temps by 10-13c is anyones guess as that puts it in similar leage as full watercooling set up more or less (i know as just gone from H50 to full watercooling set up triple rad/fan etc).

The Hardocp figures show an improvement but i think they seemed to have messed up the load temps. I fail to see how the H70 LOW is beaten by the H50. Its thicker rad with two fans, i dont get how it can lose & yet the HIGH beats out the H50 by several degrees. Its like they got the H50 & H70 LOW mixed up. If the results are correct its only about 3C better than the H50 & is louder & takes up more room. If they have mixed up the picture is is 6-7C improvement & therefore pretty good imo, especially as its only selling around £15 more than the H50. But in either case, its hardly the 10-13c claimed.

Havn't found any decent reviews of the coolit c240 so far but it looks like it should be better then the corsairs and yes it is more expensive but if it works meh pay for it.

The testing methodology is ENTIRELY different if you'd take the time to read. [H] did not even do a proper review yet however you are claiming that it is evidence that our results are wrong? C'mon. ;) You know we don't do business that way. Inside the oven under the described circumstances, our results are accurate.

I will not buying H70, I am going to get custom-water full stop! It will beat H70 and in price overall, the custom-water is the best way forward.

Let us know how it goes. Obviously the H50/70 are not for everyone and especially not DIY guys. But, I don't think you'll beat either in performance for the same price. It will be interesting to see if you can though.

Yellowbeard - can you use the H50 backplate and retention ring to attach the H70 ? Speficially I am refering to revision 1 backplate. Ta.

And when they make a one that will beat my True 120Ext by 10C please let me know :)

This end of thread ;) really cant see the point of the H series, despite the 101 reviews they are not going head 2 head with high air price/performance.

Guess the extra ram space is usefull to some mind :p

I would like to see a 240 rad version of this and i understand why they are sticking with the 120 but so many of us either have now or will have soon cases that can accomadate a bigger rad. Coolit already do a 240 version of the eco and as soon as someone does a decent review (unless they have and i can't find it) i will likely swing that way as it has to have better performance then the h70.

For people that are going to spend 70+ on this would be better off buying a 120.1 rad, a 20 quid block some 7/16 tubing, cheap pump/res few fittings and create your own water cooling kit, which would perform better :)

Spec me a custom kit for <£80, that has pump, rad, tubing, block, coolant, res, and fittings.

£113 is as low as I could go at short notice and the pump/res option isn't the best but it would do the job just as well :)

My loop including a Pa 120.2 only cost me £100, allways good to look out for offers, so 20 more then the H70 granted, but spanks it royally.

Iv said many times custom dos'nt have to cost a lot if u are only doing Cpu, and you keep an eye out for bargins.

No one is saying these H50-70 coolers will beat out custom water but what you custom water fans are forgetting not only will the H70 be cheaper then a custom loop it has none of the hassles involved either meaning it is even better value for those who want decent cooling without the hassle and worry. Corsair knows this and thats who these coolers are aimed squarely at not custom water coolers and with other companys like coolit around and others that will enter this market in time they may well get near enough to custom cooling.
