The Corsair Hydro Series H70 is the best choice for high performance CPU cooling. A worthy big brother to the already excellent Hydro Series H50, the H70 improves upon the design in every way.
A low profile pump and improved cold plate allow for even easier mounting to your CPU. Compatibility with all modern AMD and Intel desktop CPU sockets is included in the box. A higher-performance radiator with nearly twice the surface provides even more room for liquid to get cool before it returns to the cold plate.
And as if that weren’t enough, the Hydro Series H70 comes with twin high-performance 120mm fans, optimized for a push-pull configuration, to allow maximum airflow through the radiator. The Corsair Hydro Series H70 is the best choice for a high performance CPU cooler on the market, bar none.

- A new improved cold-plate design more efficiently transfers heat.
- A thicker radiator increases the cooling surface area for even better cooling potential.
- Dual 120mm fans with multiple speed options that let you optimize the maximum cooling and minimum noise.
- Includes mounting hardware compatible with all modern CPU socket designs
- Radiator Dimensions: 120mm x 50mm
- Fan Dimensions: 120mm x 25mm
- Fan Speed: Selectable 1600 or 2000 RPM
- Air Flow: 50.35 – 61.2 CFM (per fan)
- Static Pressure: 1.8 – 2.3mm H20 (per fan)
- Noise Level: 26 – 31.5 dBA (per fan)

There are various tests from review sites and they vary a bit from 13 degrees to 3-4 degrees.

We haven't had chance to test one ourselves yet.

Very good for the money, will hold any i7 cpu at 4ghz+ with good temps,

Buy this over any air cooling, if you want more performance get a custom water setup but will cost about 30 quid more.

hmmm i aways wanted watercooling over air, less dust clogging the fans inside the case rather than the case fans, (case fans are easier to clean)

will have to wait a few months to see what my get up is like. i might buy one. the h70 looks a lot better than the l50 in terms of space on and around the cpu.

the fans would defintily be good on the 902 back fan (i.e. take the 902 fan out and put this whole unit in.)

Screenies and benchmarks

Been benching this bad boy all afternoon and trying to squeeze every last drop of performance out of it.

The Hardware used:
Motherboard: Gigabyte UD7
CPU: Intel Core i7 980X
RAM: Corsair Dominator 6GB 1600MHz C8
PSU: Corsair TX 850

The H70 was ran with both of the supplied Corsair fans running push/pull on the rad and being powered off molex so they were going full tilt.

First screenie. Idling on desktop 4GHz (speedstep kicked in) with 1.344 Vcore

Second screenie. Running Folding@home 4GHz 1.344 Vcore

Third screenie. Running prime 95, blend test. 4GHz 1.344 Vcore

Finally the fourth screenie. Running folding@home 4.5GHz 1.440 Vcore

Summary.
Overall, I'm impressed. I expected it to be far worse but managing to cool the 980X at 4GHz is no easy task and the H70 did it wonderfully. I would say similar results can be acheived with the H50 with the exact same fan setup however because of the size of the rad it takes a lot longer the heat up meaning less heat saturation and better cooling.

However it is not the quiest thing ever, the pump itself is silent but the supplied fans (2000rpm) are not for the faint hearted. Admittedly I had them running flat out on molex power. This isn't an everyday setup but I wanted to show the pure performance and cooling power of the H70. With the fans on 3pins (or fan controller) the noise is a lot less but expect temps to rise by 3-4 degrees.

I would rate it 8/10 as it is better than the H50 but not really a viable upgrade from it. Performs on par and if not better than the top end air coolers (Thermalright TRUE Copper/Noctua Dh-14/Megahalem). I'd definatly recommend it to anyone would wants a stable, cool overclock.

P.S. I still ain't putting one in my build :p

So what we have found out is this really can keep up with high end air but for a fist full more £££....summery only get one of these if your running all slots of ram /end :D
