IM about to attempt to RMA a PSU to corsair which i bought form OCUK and has a habit of making a loud electircal spark soundoccasioanly when i turn the switch on on the PSU.

Does anyone know what the process is re do they test it and if its fine they charge me and send it back? or will they take it in and just send me a replacement?

Any help appreciated please

Hmm, I can't help you with the questions, but I wanted to chip in because I had that popping going on with a corsair hx650, and it finally blew out on me last week.

If the item is tested and found not faulty i think its the same with all products you will be charged for the postage to return it. From what you describe though so long as you give them the circumstances to recreate it im sure youll be fine

The issue is that it doesnt always make the sound and i cant MAKE it do it, it just does it when ti feels like it.

It sounds like a pretty serious fault and better safe than sorry I think. At least speak to someone on the phone about the problem and they can better advise you. In any dealings I've had, the staff have been extremely helpful. I recently returned a faulty HX1000 to OCUK and I had a brand new unit arrive within a couple of days!

Disregard. I see it's one you bought from OCUK but returning to Corsair.

I've had the same fault on two separate HX620 units.

Contact OcUK and talk to them, explain the problem and they'll authorise an RMA. I also left a note in the return box explaining the problem for the tester. OcUK sent out a brand new unit the next day (though I didn't know as it went to a neighbour for a week!).

If it's older than 1 year, go to Corsair direct. They will authorise RMA if you describe properly, though expect to pay a massive postage cost to Holland.
