Corsair RMx Shift Series

It's been so long since I've bought a PSU, I've no idea which brands and/or OEMs are reliable but I'm assuming Corsair are still up there?

Corsair make/have made a lot of PSUs, some great, some very mediocre (the same applies to Seasonic and I guess most brands), but from what I've seen of reviews of the SHIFT, they're well-built and there's no obvious reason why they won't last the warranty.

They Shifted the Modular Panel!

The new Corsair RMx Shift series brings innovation a side-positioned DC connector panel. According to the brand’s claims, this provides a tremendous boost to cable management since users have an easier access to the modular panel. Moreover, all Shift models are ATX v3.0 and PCIe 5.0 ready.

I don't see it as innovative. it's just another corsairs marketing trick.

I was getting a bit confused by this whole cables on the side thing. I then realised it's more to do with the case you have. I don't find any issues with the O11D and the standard RMx PSU but I could see, depending on layout, where the Sift could come in useful.

The biggest issue I get is cables just being far too long, short of custom length cables you'd never get a tidy finish.

Owners of compact cases should probably give these a pass because of the side panel space requirement, otherwise it's a useful gimmick. There are slightly more efficient alternatives, but this PSU is one of the quieter options in its class for the price at the moment. It's well built and has a 10 year warranty.

looking at this myself..another o11d evo user here and I have removed the drive cage from above the psu so have loads of space to stash cable into..I think this would be perfect for me as the cable entry point would be pointing vertically upwards ( I think!!) into this big empty void I now have

ok update from me

I got one installed in the o11d evo and as expected if you have removed the upper drive cage/psu mounting point its an absolute dream, easy angles for the cables and loads of space to stash them.so ideal if you are lian li user
