My system -
Antec Sonata 3 with 500w Earthwatts PSU,
8800gts (512mb),
x2 Seagate HD's.

Abit Ip35-Pro (bios 14), Q6600 (Go) @ 3.2 (9x356) with 2gb ram @ 1066 -perfect no problems) with 4 x 1gb of ver 1 & 2 ram blue screen and boot only.

Settings at: 8x400 ddr2-800 boots fine with 4x1gb C1E disabled, EIST disabled ddr vcore 2.2v.

Ram upped any higher 1:50 (i think 870or900) I get a blue screen on boot. Timings to manual 5-5-5-15 instant lock and beep.

I've set ram to SPD timings in the bios which Everest reads at 5-5-5-18 currently set to 8x400 - ddr2 800.

9x356 with 4x1gb of 1066 ram blue screen.

Can version 1 ram (2.2v) work with Ver 2 ram (2.15) @1066 speeds? without errors? :confused:

Sorry for the random nature of the info, Im at work and cant give specifics.

Also, Bios has C1E disabled and EIST disabled, as this caused errors when enabled with 8x400. CpuVcore at 1.35/ DDR Vcore at 2.20 both droop to 1.31 & 2.15 ish.

What can I do to get 4x1gb at 1066mhz on my system (is there any sizeable advantage to 1066 over 800speed?)

Should I return 2gb and stick to 2x1gb @1066 Q6600 @ 3.204? Or keep 4x1gb @800 Q6600 @ 3.200.

Seems to me that the speed you want there is just to higher for one of the new ram sticks or to heavy on the memory controller.

A bit offtopic, sorry for that but I seen you turn EIST & C1E off, does this actually help overclocking?

I only turned them off to get 8x400 working with them on Prime 95 fails - yet prime 95 runs for hours when 9x356 EST & C1E on :confused:

Thanks Cob - which function on my Ip35-pro bios does this?
 
Hopefully it will work.

But it may just be that the two sets may not be compatible with each other.

In the lab, the 2 versions have run fine together. Good call on the NBv Cob. Also, there should be a 2nd voltage you need to bump with 4 modules. There will be a tracking or termination voltage for the NB also. IIRC, ABIT calls it CPU VTT. If the NBv bump does not do it, try a bump in the CPU VTT also.

Everything ok so far, Im going to prime95 it tonight (how long is long enough for stability with p95?

Everest displays the following:

CPU Core 1.33v
+1.5v : 1.53v
+3.3v : 3.26v
+5v : 4.95v
+12v : 12.06
+12v 4pin : 12.12
+5v Standby. 5.01v
Dimm - 2.20 to 2.22v
NBC - 1.33 to 1.34v
SBC - 1.06
CpuVTT 1.25v
------
9x356
5-5-18 mem 445, ddr2-890 fsb 10:8
------
EIST enabled.
C1E enabled.
------

Temps on idle are 38-42c

Some people say 24 hours, some say 1 hour. For me, an hour is enough. I've never had a machine become unstable that would run Prime95 for an hour, even with some heavy OCing. In fact, I have had a couple of heavily OCed boxes that would fail Prime95 at about 30 min or so but, they would do EVERYTHING else I asked of them.
