** Corsair Vengeance Headset Games Bundle **

I currently have my z5500's plugged into my Xonar, would you recommend the 1500 or 1300's?

i am in the same boat but leave my headset plugged in mainly now. depends which you use most I guess.

your sound card will provide a stronger, more customisable sound quality over the usb set.

the usb set is designed to be a good option for those without as soundcard

I think it will bypass your sound card due to the USB connection, I'm in the same boat.

again its a choice you have to make, usb would mean you can leave both plugged in.

I'm interested in the 1300, I have the Xonar D2X so I guess the USB version isn't the ideal choice.

How long is the game bundle offer on for?

What is the cheapest sound card you would need to make the 1300 good? I'm guessing the £20-30 sound cards aren't going to be enough to bring the best out of the 1300.

Sorry if this is slightly off topic too. I'm currently using a USB Creative HS1000 headset, would I notice a difference switching to the 1300 using onboard sound before I get a sound card? Or would I just be better of going for the 1500?

games bundles are being altered today
I will be including battlefield 3 on both headsets as an option too :)

I'm extremely disappointed with the 1300, there is hardly any bass there at all, and this is with the EQ 30hz set to max on my D2X, was not expecting this at all, however the build quality, looks and comfort is amazing, much better than the G35. The only thing that is missing is the bass, its nothing......... :(:(

Do I have a faulty set?

Same with my 1500's. The bass is absolutely terrible compared to my G930's, they sound very tinny in comparison. I've adjusted EQ settings etc, but they dont even come close.

Really? that's something I did not want to hear, I was hoping that the set i have is faulty, I really like how comfortable it is. First time I've been disappointed with a Corsair product.

Reckon they would they get better as they are used?

I totally know what you mean, they are so damn comfortable, if only they had the sound to match... I've posted on the corsair forum too to see what people say, if they say anything at all... but I think I'm going to be returning them tomorrow. I put them through a good session of Battlefield 3 and Skyrim, and as I was getting used to them, I put my G930's on, and the difference was night and day, they just sound so empty compared to the G930's... I HOPE I have a faulty pair tbh....

Yeah, I just played a few quick games and thought ok maybe i can get used to it, put the G35's back on and DAMN the bass is a lot more.

I just had alook at your post on the corsair forum, Try reducing the 62hz a bit and increase the 32hz a lot more, that should give you a lot more bass.

Edit: My brother just tried the 1500, we both are very very unhappy, they are even worse where bass is concerned, at least with the 1300 you can some bass after maxing it out on the soundcard but with the 1500 even on max its just not there.

Edit2: I've decided after many hours of testing etc. I'm just not happy with how bad the bass is. I expected a lot more from these headsets considering how well Corsair are doing in all area's, their 2.1 systems are superb etc. I really wanted to keep my headset but everytime I put my G35 back on I prefer it, the difference in bass is like getting a 10w sub (Corsair 1300/1500) and a 100W sub (G35)

I hope Corsair sort this out and release a new line of headsets.

Having not tried the 1500s myself, I cannot comment. The 1300s that I have tested have been excellent for gaming, the only thing I wasn't too keen on was the mic. The bass was adjusted using my sound card though which may explain things a little.

I have forwarded your concerns onto Corsair directly to see what they suggest or if an improvement of their software for the USB set will increase performance.

In other news

We have also got a wider range of gaming bundles available with both of the 1300 and 1500 vengeance headsets coming with a choice of either BF3, MW3 or Skyrim.
