Corsair Voyager GT write speed confusion

Just had a SanDisk Extreme Pro 512Gb fail on me after just a few days usage (suddenly not seen by system at all). I bought this for the brand name and speed increase over my old Corsair Flash Voyager GT 256Gb (usb3). So yes very disappointed even though it averaged a very nice 220Mb/s write speed during its short life.

So thinking Corsair Voyager GT again due to their amazing reliability and longevity (family have three, 256gb, 128gb and 64gb) yet my current 256Gb usb3 drive averages 40Mb/s write where the current specs state 200-300Mb/s ???. I've not heard of them being updated recently ?

I gave up using a large USB flash drive last year and haven't looked back. I now use a Sabrent NVME drive in a Sabrent USB C enclosure - much faster and much more reliable.

The only down side is that it isn't as convenient to put in your trouser pocket due to the size and the fact you need a cable.
