Corset Guide

Plastic and Metal Boning
Corsets can have two kinds of boning, plastic and metal. Flexible plastic boning is often seen in cheap corsets and places like Ann Summers, whereas metal boning is in more expensive corsets, and these corsets can actually be tightened using lacing.
Plastic boned corsets, usually found in most lingerie stores rarely have back lacing, and usually have the bra clips instead. The type of corsets I have pictured, and am mainly talking about here are metal boned corsets.
Overbust and Underbust
I have attached a couple of pics to show what overbust and underbust is. It is pretty much just as it says, underbust is a corset that stops below the bust line, and an overbust covers the bust. (In case you still did't get it, the tartan one is the underbust)
Measurements
At first glance you may find the sizing a little unusual. You don't order the womans ACTUAL measurements. You order by the measurement that the corset will be when it is full tightened (not that you will always fully tighten it though). Most order systems go by waist measurement, so order a size that is about 3 inches less than her actual waist measurement.. eg 24" if she has a 27" waist etc.. (you can order up to 5 inches less than her waist measurement, but not recommended if she is an inexperienced corset wearer). If you are not sure of her waist measurement it is quite easy to estimate. Many online charts will show you approximately the measurements of certain clothes sizes, if you just know what her clothes size is.
They are quite easy to move in, although may take a bit of getting used to. They can be laced as tight or as loose as the person wishes, so there is no need to worry about being incredibly specific about sizing different parts of the body. Because of this they are also quite accomodating, and can be laced tighter at the top if someone has a small bust etc.
---
I don't make corsets as standard anymore, but do still as special orders if somebody had something in mind. Likewise if you wanted something specific, I can definitely point you in the right direction.
Hope this proves useful to you all!
