Archinstall 2.8.3 Arch linux installer adds cosmic desktop option

This is great news that distros are interested in it even though it's still Alpha.

There’s hope with the new part-open source drivers from nvidia, not sure if they support older cards.

I’m using my 3090 on Fedora and CachyOS, both Wayland and it works great now explicit sync is sorted.

Sadly Nvidia have no interest in supporting Wayland on card before the 1650ti, an Ubuntu dev has submitted a patch to try and push it back to the maxwell series which would include the 750ti.

It's clearly still and Alpha but it does look quite nice. It's very "Gnomey" out of the box and I'm not a really a fan of Gnome but I'm sure it will be more customisable when it's ready.

Looking ahead, COSMIC Player is a new Gstreamer-based media/video player in development.
