Cost of games?

I think generally games are coming down in price quicker (console games I mean) But then again I am relatively new to the console scene like only 8 months, but some games seem to get cheap pretty quick.

Like Fallout 3 available on PS3 for £7.99 for example is pretty crazy

It wasnt, it was a pricing error at one store, the guy made loads of people check out their supermarket and no one got the same price.

Absolutely everything, i think the media, internet, it all creates more awareness, we shop around.

Still happens today to an initial extent, something like gta4/metalgear 4, incredible hype, boxes will fly off shop shelfs at the rrp on the first weeks of release. Saying that though (the net again) impacts on that with pre orders and the competition that comes there.

Bigger picture though, more and more titles offering priced downloadable content updates, it's more reasonable to assume that that publishers/developers wouldn't mind seeing retails come down as the margins to be made come more from aftersale micro payments.

Having the game still sitting on the shelf isn't in their interests realy, spose though that retailers still have to make aswell, probaly one of the reasons why that online sectors offer as cheap as they do, obviously their costs are less.

Personaly i find the prices at the local sunday market to be the match of what i see online in most cases, i buy most of my stuff from there, sealed new and great prices on pre owned stuff.

Mmm yes 50 quid megadrive games, mortal combat, i was there handing it over, you gota cry now with it being a 3 second download:)

When it's possible to pick up a few very recently released console game for less than £20 each i really think we can't complain. As people said, remember the early days when you would often be spending £60 for a N64 game.
