I'll be the first to admit I'm money conscious, so I've always used Vodafone Pay As You Go. When I recently used the Facebook app on my Samsung Galaxy S2 it seemed to cost about £1 after approx 7 mins. Is this normal? What's the best alternative cost-wise.

Thanks guys

Looking on the Vodafone site, it's £1 for every 25mb, up to 125mb, so that's why you're seeing £1 after 7 mins. Seeing how light Facebook is though you're probably not even close to that 25mb limit.

Have you considered Ovivo if you're a light user? All you pay for is the £20 delivery, but after that for £0 a month you get 200 mins, 300 text and 500mb internet. They also use Vodafine's network so you should see the same coverage and speed as you currently do now.

Hi

It has nothing do do with the time you were on its to do with the data you used

You will have to find out what the data charge is on your tariff, If you had the sim for a while you could still face old legacy charges

It could be anything from £1 per mb or £1 per day, im not familiar with Vodafone tariffs
I would avoid using internet for anything major until you find out

Get Pay as you browse
Pay as you browse costs just £1 for a day – and you only pay on the days you want to browse.

No commitment
£1 for a day
Great for light use
Your £1 buys you 25MB – which is enough to watch a couple of YouTube clips, read up to 90 BBC News stories, and read and reply to around 100 emails.

How do I get Pay as you browse?
There's nothing to set up to enjoy Pay as you browse – it's already on your phone. Your £1 gets you a day’s use (a day runs from midnight to 11.59pm).

How will I know if I’ve nearly used up my daily allowance?
We'll text you with some options if it looks like you'll go over your 25MB daily internet limit. If you do go over, the charges are £1 for each 25MB.

Honestly if you're going to be using it often then I'd consider switching to a SIM only plan with decent data allowance, PAYG data charges are extortionate.

Im with T-mobile P+G and can either put a one month internet booster on for £5 or 6 months for £20 then it doesn't really cost any more as all that happens if you reach the fair usage policy is that they stop you watching Youtube between normal hours.

Top up £10 in a month and the next month you get free texts and Internet -sorted.
