Am off to the Cotswolds for three days at the end of this week. Want to get out to capture some good photo opportunites. Do you have any recommendations for which villages to frequent? or other photo opportunities in the area which should not be missed? I have very poor sense of this part of the UK. I will have my car so distance up to 30 miles around is fine with me.

Thanks :)

"The cotswolds" is quite a broad area as shown by the image hopefully linked above.

If your looking towards North cotswolds..

then Bourton on the water, and the Slaughters Chipping Norton, Burford, Lechlade, Stratford upon Avon, Oxford might appeal

i have googled the results below, there are plenty of other examples if you want to web explore first..

this site might help (multiple destinations)

you may even want to visit Blenheim Palace in Wooodstock.....

or completely the other way you have Bath, which i am sure would keep a photographer occupied.

hope this helps?

Sparky007b - just wanted to say a huge thank you for your really awesome post. This will keep me and my wife occupied for a while. Thanks again, very much appreciated. :)

I went for a walk there last year and found a lovely little village called Condicote, also not too far from there was a brewery called 'Donnington Brewery' and it was simply beautiful... and I'm not talking about the beer!!

I would (and do) HIGHLY recommend you check it out. It would be near Stow on the map above.

Thanks for the comments. I was struggling a little as my 10-20 Sigma lens cap has a tendancy to fall off in the bag.

Any recommendations on what to do with the lens? air blower or cloth? what do you usually use/have when on the go?

Thanks for the comments.

I was meant to include some comments. I took the road painting on purpose as I was gobsmacked that the road painters could destroy that beautiful row of cottages/buildings with such a poor road marking. How hacked off would you be if you lived there!
